Book Club

  • Each year, Homer Intermediate students take great advantage of a partnership with Phillips Free Library. Library director, Priscilla Berggren-Thomas, received a grant to host a lunchtime book club for 5th graders. Students receive their own copy of a book and once a month they have a "working lunch" in the computer lab to discuss the story. This is a fun and engaging way to keep students interested in reading, which is one of the best things we can do to help them succeed. The book club is a program of Phillips Free Library and the books are funded through grants from The Wilkins Foundation, the Rotary Club of Cortland, The Walmart Community Grants Foundation, and the Myrtle Dee Nash Fund of the Community Foundation of Tompkins County.

Registration for Book Club takes place in September.
